We did what we could without the sun shining which would have provided us with more dynamic range, however excellent job everyone. Using traditional photographic techniques, ie composition, light and shadow, depth of field, focus, hyper-focal distance and color temperature I composed a video featuring Escalator as the two central characters. The imagery accurately represents the pace and mood of the various rhythmic sections of the song. It was a pleasure working with the boys from Escalator.
Once in a blue moon a camera comes along that changes your life. This might sound like a bold statement but truly the 1980 Olympus OM-1 that I purchased for 69.99 at a Value Village on Hastings Street in Vancouver did just that. The design of the body is unprecedented, thick aluminum casing and a built in metered prism make it take-anywhere workhorse. The seconds it takes to wind and release is all the time you need to fall in love. Behold a collection of images on various film stocks from the past 16 months.

I want to make these posts more often, it’s rare for me to ponder a contemporary photographer’s portfolio and drool. Fatsarazzi’s Nikon F Project is tight and his portrait work is fresh.

In last month’s copy of PIG Magazine they listed Katie West a Canadian photographer from Windsor Ontario in their inspiration section. Her work is raw, compositions and lighting are stellar.
